Welcome to My Journey
I’m Maurice, an avid Camino Pilgrim having walked the Camino seven times to date. I met many different people on the route, who have made the journey so much more enriching because of them. This website is about helping you travel your Camino, your way. It is about helping you prepare for the experience of a lifetime. The Camino is an inside job while you will experience the friendliness of those around you, it may have a profound effect on the way you see the world going forward. Its transformative power should not be underestimated. Whether you are doing it to lose weight or spiritually discover yourself, either way, you will be confronted by yourself along the route.

Gear, Equipment, and Travel Insights
Whatever reason you find yourself travelling to the Camino, it is best to become prepared. I have travelled with several people who brought books, extra shoes or clothes, only to discard them after the first stage, because of their extra weight. Others make the painful mistake of wearing new boots en route only to create countless blisters, that can destroy the experience. I will present tips and comparisons of the best and lightest gear and equipment to bring, where to stay and how to travel, covering stage by stage.
Life Beyond the Walk: Who I Am Off the Trail
Outside of the Camino, I retired in June 2023. I have finished the first draft of my first novel/manuscript (which has been a labour of love) and will be editing this in the coming few months. I continue to trek a lot and currently live in Wexford, Ireland. Please leave a comment below if you want to get in touch. I hope in time, this website will be a community of fellow Camino Enthusiasts where others can also share their stories, tips and experiences.
